Laboratory of Core Muscle and Dynamic Spinal Stability

About Us

We have emphasized on revealing the mechanism of sensorimotor control of spinal stability in relation to the treatment of spinal pain. Real-time ultrasound image has been used to visualize and quantify the contraction of the deep core muscles of the trunk, including transverse abdominis, lumbar and cervical multifidus. The synergistic function and structural connection of these deep muscles in asymptomatic individuals and patients with spinal pain are current under investigation. The morphological change of core muscles and the principles of core muscle training for improving dynamic spinal stability are applying to patients received operation and non-operation treatment.
